John and Robbie Iobst serve in the south suburbs of Denver, Colorado. Their ministry, InFaith: Marriages that Thrive, is purposed to help couples put Christ in the middle of their relationship.
The enemy is attacking marriages with the lie that marriage is all about each spouse getting what they, individually, need. Selfless love, which Christ teaches and exemplifies, is not a priority in this culture. Self-gratification within the marriage invites addictions, pornography, and extramarital affairs. Seeing the over-sexualized norm in society today, the need for the truth of the gospel message is vitally important.
Marriages begin to thrive only when Christ is the priority and center of the home.
John and Robbie have been married for twenty-two years, but they went through rough times early in their relationship. The Lord restored their marriage and now they feel called by God to help other marriages. In this over-sexualized society, the Iobsts are passionate about helping marriages become what God intended. They seek to help couples in turmoil or addiction and want to help couples in great marriages mentor others.
The Iobsts learned the hard way that addiction can destroy a marriage. Now they use the lessons learned to help other marriages with what they call “Ten Holy Habits”. They offer marriage coaching, seminars, and conferences, and published a book, Caught, which tells their story.
John and Robbie help any marriage in crisis, but specialize in marriages that deal with addiction or infidelity. “We point couples to a deeper relationship with Jesus and give them tools to make Christ the center of their family,” explains Robbie.
The Iobsts have served as InFaith field staff since January 2018.
After their first seven years of marriage, God redeemed their relationship. He brought John out of a sexual addiction into recovery and transformed Robbie's self-loathing into seeing herself as God sees her. Now, almost fifteen years later, the Iobsts use the difficult lessons they learned to help marriages thrive.
John 10:10 says, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full." The Iobsts stand in the gap for marriages and battle the enemy's attacks by guiding couples to Christ and the biblical teachings about marriage. They help couples find true intimacy by equipping them with tools to experience the redeeming love of Christ.
