What is STEER?
STEER, Inc. is a nonprofit that connects farmers and ranchers with mission organizations like InFaith. Through the Cow/Calf Program, the profits from your herd support missionaries in the field.
The Cow/Calf Program: How it Works
Of STEER's programs, the Cow/Calf Program is their most popular, and for good reason. Here's how it works:
- STEER purchases a young cow, usually from you, and places her in your care
- You raise the cow alongside your herd—your only cost is your time and feed
- When the calf goes to market, the proceeds are sent to STEER
- STEER forwards the profits to InFaith or an InFaith missionary of your choice to keep rural churches and other rural ministry thriving across the country
- The cow's sale eventually returns funds to STEER to start the cycle again
