I have found that the Lord uses my family and me to reach out into our small community through “regular” activities as we let His light shine. We have been challenged recently in this area.
Our oldest son plays on a high school sports team. One of the other moms who comes to the games is very vocal, vulgar, and cannot control her temper. She unleashes her fury on our players and coaches at different times throughout the season. It has been hard to be gracious, especially when our son is the target of one of her rants. Even though it gets personal when her offensive behavior hit us close to home, God is showing me that this woman desperately needs Christ.
How many times do I need get past people’s offenses to reach them? Lord, thanks for reminding me that in order to reach the lost I need to love unlovely people. Aren’t we all unlovely? Yet, He loves us.
