Brandon and Kelli Bodenhausen serve in Bolivar, a rural town in southwestern Missouri. The town houses a Baptist university, and its residents hold to a variety of religions.
The biggest need in the community is to hear the gospel plainly presented. Bolivar is the “buckle of the bible belt”, and many think they are Christians simply because they believe God exists and they go to church every so often. The Bodenhausens saw a particular need for ministry to the youth of the community, many of whom lack fathers to teach them basic trades and life skills necessary to be productive members of society.
After seeing the need among local young men, Brandon and Kelli began Mobile Workshop, an InFaith ministry. This relational internship program focuses on helping young men ages 12 and up learn practical life skills by providing opportunities to learn various trades. These times of learning provide the prime time to share the gospel and build lasting relationships. Students, as well as father/son groups, participate in construction trades and other hands-on community projects throughout their time with Mobile Workshop.
The Bodenhausens have served as InFaith field staff since 2010, but have been involved in missions work since 2002.
