Chuck and Lisa Lerner serve in both urban and rural communities, with a home base in Burleson, Texas. With an eighty percent divorce rate in their community, there is a specific need for marriage coaching and encouragement, as well as providing resources for unique needs.
Of the nearly one million sworn law enforcement officers in the United States, only four percent claim to be Christians.
After seeing the need in their community, the Lerners began a ministry for law enforcement by law enforcement. Chuck is a retired thirty-year patrol officer and Lisa is a police chaplain. Through their twenty-eight-year marriage and living the “police life”, the Lerners understand the challenges officers and their families face.
“Our heart is to come alongside them and show the strength of the love of God,” Lisa explains. “Through the power of God, we want them to not just survive police life, but thrive in it!”
Chuck and Lisa also provide free marriage coaching and biblical counseling in their community. They offer free conferences that provide resources and a community of support and encouragement for wives and families to plug into.
The Lerners have served as InFaith field staff since 2007.
Lisa is certified in CISM, and ministers as a police chaplain. Chuck is a thirty-year police veteran. Both are trained as CMS Marriage Coaches with the National Association of Marriage Enhancement.
The Lerners have been married twenty-eight years, and have a twenty-five-year-old daughter.
