Local Reach

Courtney Gunn serves just outside of Redding, California, an area surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation in the open Millville Plains. This community is home to a wide range of people, from affluent businessmen to low-income families struggling to find housing. No matter the socio-economic situation, these residents all need the hope of a Savior.

Like many places in the United States, there is a real need for constructive activities for the local youth. More than that, residents of Redding and the surrounding Shasta County need to see the Savior’s love and hope lived out by those around them.

After seeing the need in her community, Courtney took her past experience using horses to reach young people with the gospel and joined the horse ministry at Trailhead Youth Ranch. “It’s been amazing to see how God can use these wonderful animals to touch the lives of young people and help them learn about Him,” Courtney writes.

Courtney has served with InFaith since 2015.

Courtney grew up in a small town in northern California, where she had the blessing of experiencing ranch life with horses and livestock from an early age. Her parents were always involved in ministry, and many people who were great examples of what it means to serve Christ surrounded her.

Courtney trusted Jesus as her Savior when she was quite young, and her experiences at Christian horse camps made a huge impact on her growing relationship with Him. She attended Shasta Bible College, which was a wonderful experience of learning to know God more, and she graduated in 2014 with a degree in Bible and Theology.
