- Our Self
Jim and Linda VanVoorst serve in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho in Jim’s role as InFaith’s Northwest Field Director. With nearly thirty missionary families, the ministries and locations of service are diverse. There is a wide variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds throughout the Northwest, and a significant percentage of the population is of Hispanic background.
Despite these differences, the goal of each missionary family remains the same: to reach the lost with the gospel of Christ in each community across the Northwest.
As a Field Director, Jim provides care for the nearly thirty missionary individuals, couples, and families serving in the Northwest. Focusing on their spiritual, emotional, and physical health, Jim provides prayer, encouragement, counseling, and practical aid in a variety of ways as needed. He also helps with placement of new InFaith missionaries in the Northwest field.
The VanVoorsts have served as InFaith field staff since 1983.
Married in 1974, Jim and Linda have four grown children and nine grandchildren. They served for seventeen years in area ministries in Bend, Oregon before Jim became a Regional Director in 2000 and an InFaith Field Director in 2010.
Jim graduated from Multnomah Bible College in 1983, and joined InFaith right out of college. Since then, he has served on several camp and church boards, has worked with Christian camping and outdoor outreach ministries, and has been involved with numerous church planting and development ministry endeavors. His passion is to find new workers to serve in existing ministries and start new ministries throughout the Northwest.
