Matt Letourneau serves in Mankato, Minnesota. The city and outlying population reaches over 200,000 people, and it serves as the metropolitan hub for south-central Minnesota. While Mankato itself continues to grow in diversity and size, the surrounding communities revolve around a strong farming industry.
After seeing the need in his community, Matt joined Gentle Shepherd Ministries, a ministry of InFaith. He currently serves with Broken Chains Fellowship, a division of GSM that reaches out to people in county jails and supports those reentering society from corrections.
The focus of Broken Chains Fellowship is to reach people with the good news of Jesus. Ministers and volunteers work to provide a support network that fosters inclusion in a faith community, opportunity for vocational placement, and safe-sober-supportive housing alternatives.
Matt Letourneau has served as an InFaith associate since January 2017, but he has served with Gentle Shepherd Ministries (a ministry of InFaith) since 2012.
Matt has been living in the Mankato area for twenty-four years. He and his wife have been married for nineteen years, and are the proud parents of two teenagers. He received his B.S. in Nursing from Minnesota State University – Mankato and his Masters of Theological Studies from Bethel University – St. Paul. Matt has been working professionally in secure facilities for over eighteen years and has served as a chaplain in a variety of correctional and hospital settings.
