Bob and Virginia Travis have a passion to share their faith in Christ with people from various cultures and languages. Once they see an individual come to Christ, as a priority, they begin discipling them as Jesus taught in Matthew 28:19-20. Their main ministry revolves around building friendships with international students, expatriates, and immigrants, using bilingual Bible Studies.

Bob and Virginia Travis serve in Yavapai County, located in northwest Arizona. The area is made up of mountains, valleys, lakes, cities, and farmland, ranging in elevation between 4,600-5,400 feet. They live near four major cities: Dewey-Humboldt, Prescott Valley, Prescott, and Chino Valley. These are known locally as the “Quad Cities”, with a population of over 235,000 people. Within Yavapai County, there are 28,000 foreign-born residents made up of Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Turks, French, Iranian, and Hispanic. There are three distinct Yavapai Native American nations in the county.
After discovering the need to take the Gospel to the diverse ethnic population in Yavapai County, the Travises use friendship evangelism to reach out to people with whom they come in contact. In Yavapai county, there are two colleges and one university where international students attend classes. Virginia and Bob plan to use an evangelistic cross-cultural relationship-oriented bilingual Bible study with these students. They also have a training course to teach others to do what they do. In addition to reaching out to international students, Bob & Virginia have a desire to reach out to the Native American tribes in Arizona and nearby New Mexico.
The Travises have served as cross-cultural InFaith field staff for 13 years. Both Bob and Virginia graduated from Biola University, Bob with a B.A. in Cross-Cultural Communication, and Virginia with a Bachelor of Music and Bible. Bob also has a M.Div. from Talbot Theological Seminary. They were married in 1984. From 1986 to 2008, they served in Japan as church planters for 22 years. They returned to the US in 2008 with a desire to reach out to the growing ethnic population.

Your generosity will fund a critical part of the ministry of our field staff, providing supplies that you or I may take for granted, that are necessary for completing everyday ministry.
