Do you have a heart for the nations but feel God calling you to stay here in the United States? Each year, tens of thousands of refugees find a new home in the US. Texas is one of the top destinations for these refugees. We are looking for an individual or couple to assist and expand an existing ministry to refugees in Dallas. This cross-cultural ministry includes English classes, computer classes, a soccer league, after-school programs, tutoring, and mentoring of refugee families. There is flexibility for the candidate to minister according to his or her varied gifts and call. Certification to teach English and computers is not required; training will be provided. The applicant may have the potential to replicate the ministry in other locations as God leads. This position requires raising full support.

  • Assist refugees as they adjust to life in the United States
  • Work with field staff to implement appropriate ministry activities
  • Teach English classes
  • Teach computer classes
  • Provide leadership for youth soccer league
  • Tutor refugee students
  • Mentor students as well as families
  • Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness
  • A servant’s heart and willingness to learn are essential
  • A love and desire to work with refugees from different parts of the world
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Desire and ability to mentor students
  • Ability to actively move around with children
  • Experience with refugees, a plus
  • Ability to raise support

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree; or 1-2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. One year of college-level Biblical studies preferred.
