Ramón Robles serves in Chula Vista, located in the greater San Diego metropolitan area. The area is predominantly Catholic and middle class. The community is largely Hispanic, with Hispanics making up approximately half of the population and 65% of the high school student body.
Ramón says the area is plagued by the influence of materialism and consumerism which manifests in a spirit of greed and selfishness. There is a desperate need for the gospel in Chula Vista and the larger San Diego area.
After seeing the need in his community, Ramón decided to “make a plan in the style of Nehemiah” by empowering the people of Christ to build bridges between cultures and classes in Chula Vista.
Ramón’s heart is to share the gospel in the Hispanic community, which he accomplishes by planting Bible studies and home churches. Ramón creates opportunities for evangelism by teaching chess and coaching soccer. This allows him to share Christ with the children and their relatives in the community. He also works to aid local orphanages and the homeless. Once he’s established strong enough churches he plans to rent a space in a local school for public worship services.
Ramón Robles became an approved candidate with InFaith in 2018.
He has a wife, Veronica, and three children: David, Jonathan, and Isaac.
Over the years Ramón has planted several churches; four in Los Cabos Mexico and one in San Diego. He has spent time teaching systematic theology in South America and Cuba and is now leading Bible studies in Los Angeles with Hispanic groups who desire to join his ministry. He is currently writing a book about his mission work in San Diego and Tijuana.
Ramón feels blessed to be part of the InFaith family and is continually trusting in the power of the Holy Spirit to accomplish the mission.
