Lead a Ministry That Changes Lives

Galilee Bible Camp is seeking a Christ-centered leader to serve as our next Executive Director. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about discipleship, Christian camping, leadership development, and creating environments where people encounter Jesus Christ.

The Executive Director provides overall spiritual, organizational, and operational leadership for the ministry of Galilee Bible Camp. This individual will oversee year-round camp operations while leading staff, developing ministry programs, cultivating donor and church relationships, stewarding resources, and ensuring the camp remains a safe, welcoming, and Gospel-centered place for campers and guests.

 

Responsibilities

The Executive Director provides spiritual, organizational, and operational leadership for all aspects of camp ministry and operations. This role ensures the camp operates effectively, safely, and in alignment with the mission and values of InFaith.

The Director shepherds the overall ministry of the camp through leadership of staff, programs, operations, finances, facilities, and ministry partnerships while fostering a Christ-centered environment for campers, guests, and staff.

Core Responsibilities

1. Leadership & Vision

  • Provide prayerful leadership and direction for year-round camp ministry and operations
  • Ensure alignment with InFaith’s mission, policies, and long-term goals
  • Foster a Christ-centered culture that encourages growth, service, and community
  • Model Christian character, integrity, humility, and servant leadership
  • Support and assist key leadership staff as needed

2. Program Oversight

  • Oversee and coordinate all camp programming, including summer camps, retreats, conferences, rental groups, and camp-sponsored events
  • Ensure programs are biblically grounded, organized, engaging, and spiritually impactful
  • Coordinate with pastors, speakers, and volunteers for program delivery
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements as needed

3. Staff Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff, seasonal workers, and volunteers
  • Develop leadership within the team through encouragement, coaching, and mentoring
  • Conduct staff training related to ministry expectations, safety, leadership, and emergency procedures
  • Lead regular staff meetings, evaluations, and performance feedback processes
  • Participate in InFaith staff evaluations with the Regional Director
  • Maintain monthly calendars of events and activities
  • Foster a positive, mission-minded, team-oriented work environment

4. Financial Stewardship & Development

  • Oversee budgeting, financial operations, forecasting, and reporting
  • Manage purchasing, inventory, expense tracking, and responsible stewardship of camp resources
  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies, including donor development, grant opportunities, campaigns, and special events
  • Oversee promotional materials related to fundraising and development efforts
  • Encourage long-term financial sustainability and faithful stewardship

5. Marketing & Ministry Partnerships

  • Represent the camp through church relationships, speaking engagements, community outreach, networking, and ministry partnerships
  • Oversee communications including newsletters, mailings, promotional campaigns, social media outreach, and news releases
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with churches, families, alumni, donors, and ministry partners
  • Promote camp programs and the mission of the camp throughout surrounding communities and supporting churches

6. Facilities & Property Oversight

  • Work closely with the Facilities Director and volunteer staff to ensure safe, clean, functional, and welcoming facilities
  • Oversee the condition of cabins, buildings, grounds, activity areas, and equipment
  • Maintain effective systems for facility maintenance, inspections, cleaning, and groundskeeping
  • Plan and prioritize long-term facility improvements and development projects
  • Ensure the camp environment remains hospitable and guest-ready

7. Safety & Risk Management

  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for campers, guests, volunteers, and staff
  • Oversee safety procedures, emergency protocols, inspections, and compliance standards
  • Ensure accurate incident reporting, medical documentation, and operational records
  • Evaluate operational risks and implement improvements as needed
  • Promote a culture of preparedness, responsibility, and care throughout the camp community

8. Board Relations & Governance

  • Prepare reports for quarterly and annual board meetings
  • Provide recommendations regarding policies, operational improvements, rates, and strategic planning
  • Serve as an ex-officio member of committees assigned
  • Maintain clear, consistent, and professional communication with the Board

9. Guest Services & Administration

  • Oversee bookings, reservations, housing arrangements, scheduling, meals, and rental group coordination
  • Ensure a welcoming and high-quality experience for campers, guests, and ministry partners
  • Address camper behavioral, emotional, and spiritual needs in collaboration with staff and parents
  • Maintain organized administrative systems and timely communication with parents, guests, churches, and donors
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and InFaith standards

10. Resource & Volunteer Coordination

  • Develop and maintain networks of volunteers, counselors, speakers, cooks, lifeguards, medical personnel, and ministry support staff
  • Ensure required staffing and volunteer support for all programs and events
  • Encourage volunteers and staff through appreciation, communication, and spiritual support

11. Spiritual Leadership

  • Promote and model Christian values and biblical principles in all aspects of camp life
  • Provide spiritual guidance, encouragement, and pastoral support to staff and campers
  • Ensure camp programming reflects biblical integrity and supports the discipleship mission of the camp

12. Professional Development

  • Attend conferences, seminars, and training opportunities relevant to camp and ministry leadership
  • Stay current on best practices in camp management, nonprofit operations, safety, and ministry leadership
  • Pursue continued personal, professional, and spiritual growth
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in ministry, recreation, nonprofit management, Christian education, or related field preferred
  • 3–5+ years of leadership experience in camp ministry, youth ministry, Christian education, or nonprofit leadership
  • Experience in staff supervision, program development, administration, and operations management preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong alignment with Christian ministry and discipleship
  • Effective leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience in organizational leadership, budgeting, fundraising, and operational management
  • Knowledge of safety standards, risk management, and crisis response
  • Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in an active ministry environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during camp seasons

Physical Requirements

  • Physically active role with outdoor work & activities required
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Comfort working in varied weather conditions
  • Ability to remain on-site during extended camp sessions
