Joe Kim

Joe serves in the greater Philadelphia area which is ethnically and religiously diverse. Joe sees a great need to mentor young adults and he aims to bring socio-economic revitalization to the community. His mission is to rebuild trust in the church through his ministry in Philadelphia.

Joe’s main goal of reaching local is by focusing on rebuilding trust between local families and the church. He does this by focusing on community building and discipleship, not only to benefit the community but to also rebuild trust in families and the church. His ministry also reaches families, singles, young adults and children with disabilities.

Joe is a regular contributor to Reformed Margins, a blog site that provides a platform for Reformed Christian thinkers from various ethnic minority backgrounds to join in the broader Reformed and Evangelical conversations.

Joe has served as InFaith field staff since 2022.

Joe came to faith in 1995 and quickly got involved in ministry. He has served at various times in his life as a children’s director (his first love), choir director, and youth group director in places like Philadelphia, Atlanta, South Jersey, and Queens, New York.

Joe is married to Emii and has 2 beautiful daughters, Norah and Naomi. Emii in particular is an advocate of special needs ministry as Norah is on the autism spectrum. It was Emii who taught Joe that Norah isn’t someone to apologize for getting in the way of ministry. Norah, and his family IS his ministry; a ministry from which all other ministry can flow.

Joe also enjoys reading, guitars, theology, all Philadelphia sports teams, and spending time with his family.
