Bert and Lana Holmquist serve in west central Minnesota.
After seeing the need in their rural community, the Holmquists began serving through a number of different ministries. They reach the local elderly community, whether at home, in a high-rise, or in a care center, through visitation and preaching services. Bert also has pastoral responsibilities at a small rural church in the area, and travels to other local churches to help with preaching and visitation responsibilities.
The Holmquists also host a hospitality ministry in their home, which was built from two old farmhouses and provides plenty of room to bring both physical and spiritual nourishment to locals and travelers alike.
The Holmquists have served as InFaith field staff since 1987.
After joining InFaith as newlyweds, Bert and Lana spent nearly ten years in camp ministry throughout Minnesota and Tennessee. They served as directors of Camp Joy, Camp Grace, and Camp Galilee, and also took part in youth, VBS, visitation, and hospitality ministries. In 1997, the Holmquists moved back to west-central Minnesota, where they continue to serve.
Bert and Lana have been married for thirty years. They have eight children and eight grandchildren, with two more on the way. The Holmquists reside on an old, 80-acre farm, where they raise their own meat and grow fruits and vegetables.
