Comfort’s story, sadly, is like that of many others in this nation who have felt hurt by the church in the past and feel they can no longer trust or be part of a church community. The reality of our broken world is that sin can be present anywhere, even in places that should serve as safe havens. At InFaith—The American Missionary Fellowship, we recognize this reality and aim to reach those who have been hurt or are struggling to return, because no matter where people are, they can come back to Christ.
No matter someone's past, they should know that there is hope for the future. In America, there is a growing trend of individuals having no religious affiliation, often sharing the same sentiment as Comfort—leaving the church due to past hurts.
We strive to uplift those in our community so they can use their gifts to serve and reach others. There is much brokenness in communities across the nation, and many, like Comfort, feel hurt or distant from the church.
Comfort is a powerful example of someone whose life was radically changed through Christ. Once feeling lost and hurt, Comfort found healing, purpose, and a renewed sense of belonging. It's because of missionaries like those at InFaith, who dedicate themselves to reaching out to individuals like Comfort, that such transformations are possible.
Now more than ever our nation needs Christ. It's with the help of donors from across the nation that we are able to transform lives for Christ and heal those who are broken.
