Bruce & Lori Thompson

- Our Self
Bruce and Lori Thompson serve in the mostly-rural area of east central Minnesota. Scattered throughout the area are small towns with populations of less than 4,000 people. The communities reflect a variety of religious backgrounds, as well as many who are “unchurched.” Having grown up and serving part-time in the area, Bruce and Lori felt called to share the love of God and the hope found in the gospel on a full-time basis with those in East Central MN.
Bruce serves as pastor of Hustletown Community Church in Pine City, Minnesota, and also provides support and encouragement for other local InFaith churches. Reaching a wide range of ages, Bruce and Lori provide discipleship through a variety of ministry modes for adults, teens, individuals with developmental disabilities, and mental health support. They also lead monthly services at a local senior care center (when without health restrictions). Lori is a certified Christian counselor and provides Biblical support and guidance through many different life circumstances.
In addition to ministries that reach the residents of their local community, Lori is also the director of Evergreen Bible Camp. The camp does not own property but rents and works with Bible camps within the field bringing together children from the rural areas of more than a dozen counties. Ministering to children since 1955, the low-cost camp has been averaging 170 campers during three different age camps each summer, many of whom have no church connection.
The Thompsons have served as InFaith field staff since March 2007.
Bruce grew up in Minnesota under the ministry of Rev. Ellsworth Moritz, and served as a bi-vocational pastor of an InFaith church for eleven years before God called him and Lori into their full-time role as area missionaries.
Bruce has a Diploma in Biblical Studies and Youth Ministry from Oak Hills Christian College. Lori has a B.S. in Psychology (with a Marriage and Family emphasis) and a Christian Counseling Certificate from the University of Northwestern St. Paul. God has blessed them with two wonderful daughters and their husbands, and six grandchildren.
