Charity and Karl Lehrke serve in the beautiful, rural communities of central Wisconsin. Much of this area is economically depressed, and residents encounter many needs surrounding financial hardships, depression, and broken families. Though some residents consider themselves part of mainline churches, many remain completely unreached.
After seeing the need in their community, the Lehrkes began reaching the youth and families around them with the gospel message through a number of ministries. Some of their ministries include youth groups, kid’s Bible clubs, summer VBS, tent camp, Super Saturday youth events for children and teens, women’s outreach luncheons, Vespers (Sunday evening praise through music), and food pantry work.
Charity and Karl have found that the best way to meet a community’s needs is to be present in it and build relationships with the residents. “There are many precious people that are overlooked, missed, or disregarded by traditional forms of ministry,” Charity writes. “We seek to bring these people the good news that their Creator loves them and that they can have a life-changing relationship with Him.”
The Lehrkes have served as InFaith field staff since 1995.
Charity grew up in an InFaith missionary family, and considers herself blessed to be able to continue to minister in Wisconsin. Charity and Karl have three sons, and all five of them share the vision of bringing the love of Jesus to their community.
