Eric Bandy (CH CPT) ARMY

Eric serves as a chaplain in the Army National Guard. Along with serving in the NCARNG, he along with his wife Angie, serve with Samaritan’s Purse as a chaplain with Operation Heal our Patriots. Eric received his M. Div. from Liberty University Baptist Theological Seminary and received a Bachelor of Music from Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, MI. He and his wife, Angie have served in ministry together for several years. Eric’s call to the military began when he was quite young. With several family members serving in the Vietnam War, he always felt a strong call to military service. In 2008, he was recruited to join the National Guard by the current Michigan Adjutant General. Eric writes, “I could not shake the pull on my heart to do more to reach Soldiers, so in October 2011, I began my Master of Divinity at Liberty Theological Seminary, graduating in October 2015. In March 2019, I commissioned as a Michigan Army National Guard Chaplain. The entire process ended up taking 8 years, and there were so many times I was tempted to give up, but God just would not let me. With the high rates of divorce, suicide, sexual assault, and addiction among soldiers it is a ripe mission field and unfortunately the workers are indeed few (Luke 10:2). I could not ignore the call of Jesus to “Go” (Matt. 28:18-20) and bring hope to these young men and women who are lost and hurting, serving in a very challenging environment.”
