FAQ

General

What do you mean by field staff?

At InFaith, we call our long-term missionaries field staff. Our field staff work part-time and full-time, spreading the gospel and meeting practical needs in local communities all across the continental United States!

What are your long-term service opportunities?

You can become a part-time or full-time field staff by either starting your own ministry in partnership with InFaith or joining an existing InFaith ministry.

What about short-term opportunities?

We offer minimum 1-year internships with a maximum of 2 years. We also have summer staff opportunities for high-school and college students who want to explore ministry over their summer break.

Benefits

Full-time

Field staff who work 30 hours or more a week receive general liability insurance, accident insurance, access to health insurance, life insurance, vacation days, workers’ comp, 401(k) match, communication services like access to short videos and newsletter templates, software upgrades through Microsoft, financial accountability software, systems to staff summer help and interns, and registration cost to attend our annual Refresh conference is covered once minimum requirements are met.

Part-time

Field staff work between 16-29 hours a week receive workers’ comp, 401(k) match, communication services like short videos and newslettertemplates, software upgrades through Microsoft, financial accountability software, systems to staff summer help and interns, and registration cost to attend our annual Refresh conference is covered once minimum requirements are met.

Brand Standards

What if I already have an existing ministry with a name, logo, website, or brand?

Everyone who joins InFaith must adopt the InFaith name and brand. This is what allows you to raise support through tax-deductible contributions with InFaith and keeps us in compliance with IRS standards. This means that any existing ministry name, logo, website, email address, colors, and fonts that you use to communicate about your ministry will have to be changed to clearly communicate that you are now a part of InFaith. Exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis.

Fundraising

How do field staff get paid?

Like many ministries, our field staff rely on a network of donors to uphold their ministry through prayer and financial donations. This practice is known as Deputized Fundraising. Our finance office works with all approved candidates to outline a budget based on needs, regional cost-of-living norms, and ministry scope. The responsibility of raising ministry funds that will meet their budget lies with the field staff. Field staff fundraise the entire cost of their agreed-upon salary and ministry expenses, which allows InFaith to issue them a monthly paycheck. This process enables field staff to remain in compliance with federal laws for the use of funds in ministry.

How much would I need to fundraise?

To work full-time (30+ hours a week), you must raise a minimum of $25,000 annually. To work part-time (16-29 hours a week), you must raise a minimum of $13,000 annually.

Why do you have minimum fundraising requirements?

We want to make sure that our people have their basic needs met while they focus on ministry. It is easy to be swept up in the intensity of serving others and put your own needs at the bottom of the to do list.

Do you have a fundraising limit?

We do not. Our people can increase their yearly fundraising goals and salary if they need to.

What fundraising training do you provide?

We offer a one-week intensive training at our InFaith School of Ministry. This week happens as soon after your acceptance date as a candidate as possible. The training is taught by a person with fundraising expertise and experience. After your training, you’ll be meeting on the phone monthly with a person who will coach you as you work on fundraising. They will work with you until minimums are met whether you are choosing full-time or part-time service.

How will you help me track my donations?

We offer an online system that tracks donations and becomes your own personal donation tracking website. The site tracks all of your donations within hours of any gift posted by our Finance Office into the system. This personal site gives you 24/7 access to track donor gifts, habits of giving, and monthly totals to help you meet your budgeting; and puts all donor information into a singular place for communication and thank-you writing. You’ll learn more about how to use this website at our School of Ministry.

Does InFaith take any of the money I have raised?

To help us provide benefits and accountability to the U.S. federal government, we take an admin fee of 10% to cover a portion of the costs for serving you, listed in our benefits section.

How long will it take me to fundraise?

This varies from person to person. We have had candidates take anywhere from 6 weeks to 2 years. Most people need 12+ months to reach their full funding goal.
