Gisela Rivera – Military Chaplain Candidate
Gisela’s calling to chaplaincy is rooted in a desire to provide spiritual support during times of challenge and transition. Growing up in a military family, she witnessed the unique struggles service members face, shaping her passion for ministering to them. Whether in schools, the military, or global ministry, Gisela seeks to offer guidance, encouragement, and a steadfast presence—helping others navigate both their faith and personal journeys.
Her experience encompasses leadership, mentorship, and ministry. Inspired by her mother’s work as a counselor, Gisela mentored high school students in their personal and academic growth as a pre-college advisor. Her commitment to faith has led her to mentor peers, lead Bible studies, and baptize fellow cadets in the University of Oregon Army ROTC program. Additionally, her involvement with the UO Equestrian Team and ROTC has honed her leadership, discipline, and her ability to support others in both challenging and transformative moments.
