Jim Webb’s Story

One Conversation. Eternal Impact.

Nearly 30 years after sharing the gospel with a middle school student at camp, a retired InFaith missionary witnessed the ripple effect of that moment: meeting the same man again, now grown, married, and raising three children who all follow Christ.

Jim Webb, a retired InFaith missionary, recently shared a powerful reminder of how God uses simple moments to create lasting change.

While serving at the Palouse Empire Fair in Colfax, Washington—an outreach Jim has helped lead for 16 years that has seen more than 500 people come to Christ—Jim was drawing on and talking with people about Jesus when a man stopped him.

“Are you Jim Webb, the guy who ran a camp near Yakima?”

Jim confirmed it was him. The man explained that Jim had shared the gospel with him at Lost Creek Village when he was in middle school, early 30 years ago. That conversation led him to faith in Jesus, and his life was forever changed. Now grown, the man introduced Jim to his wife and their three children, all believers, all serving Christ in their local church.

Jim often reflects on Jesus’ encounter with the woman at the well in John 4, how one faithful conversation continues to echo through generations. He shares,,p>“It is this I want missionaries to know. When we get to Heaven, many, many, many people will come up to InFaith, AMF, ASSU missionaries and tell them thank you and show them the long-term impact of faithfulness.”

Even in retirement, Jim continues to encourage pastors and leaders in five nations, hearing weekly stories of lives being transformed by Christ.

This is the heart of InFaith: showing up, sharing Jesus, and trusting God with the outcome—knowing that every conversation matters.
