JOHN MATTHEW MOONEY (CH CAPT) ARMY

John's military career began in January 2009 with a direct commission as a 2nd Lieutenant into the Army chaplain candidate program and in 2019, he accessed as an Army Chaplain in the ARNG. Currently, he serves in the Montana Army National Guard. John is a Board-Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains and has served as a Hospice Chaplain. Along with military and hospital chaplaincy, John was the senior pastor at First United Methodist Church in Vidor, Texas. As senior pastor, he encouraged the congregation through Christ-centered spiritual leadership, preaching, teaching, and leading by example as a moral compass. John is a licensed and ordained pastor from Wolfe City, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M Commerce and received a Bachelor of Science in Special Education and M.Div. from Truett Seminary at Baylor University.
