JOSHUA GRIMES (CH MAJ) ARMY

Josh's call to military chaplaincy was one of several "steppingstones". While he gave his life to Christ during his junior year of high school, the aspiration to enter vocational ministry did not occur until his final years of college. Attending Texas Christian University by way of an Army ROTC scholarship, a series of experiences with a campus ministry and his local church led Josh to consider chaplaincy as the course for which God was preparing him. After receiving approval for an education delay, Josh entered the chaplain candidate program and completed a Master of Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary. While there, he interned in a local church in the pastoral care and young adult ministry departments. These experiences were transformational in preparing Josh's heart to serve soldiers and their families and fostered a love for the local church having served a two-year church plant residency with the Soma Churches, Washington. Josh entered the army chaplaincy in 2009, serving first at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina and then at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), Washington and Fort Hood. His next assignment will be Fort Leavenworth, KS as an Ethics Instructor, and chaplain. Josh will be completing an EdD soon. Josh is married to Mary-Catherine and they have four children.
