Josue Quiles – US Army Chaplain Candidate
Josue has been called by God, first and foremost. While reflecting on his assignment to chaplaincy, the Lord impressed upon his heart a clear desire: to be the presence of Jesus in the flesh, allowing the Holy Spirit to work through him to share Christ’s love and compassion—so that others may come to understand there is no fear in the love of Christ.
Josue feels called to pour into families, teaching that Christ has the power to restore them according to His ways. He also seeks to protect children from the attacks of the enemy by planting in them a deep love for the Lord and giving them a foundation to remain rooted in faith.
As an Army Chaplain, with the help of the Holy Spirit, Josue envisions creating a “ministry of presence.” Wherever he is, that place becomes his chapel. His presence will serve as both a barracks for spiritual warriors and a hospital for those in need of spiritual healing. He wants to provide a space to train and equip those strong in spirit while also offering compassion and healing for the hurting—not only for Christians, but for the spiritual well-being of all.
To Josue, following Jesus means being so filled with love that all become his flock to tend. As he grows in his Army career, he hopes to mentor and develop other chaplains—teaching them to follow his example of being a chaplain for all, so that Christ’s overflowing love may be shared through lives marked by obedience and Christlikeness.
