Kinwana McGrigg

Kinwana serves as a staff chaplain at Inova Hospital in Mt Vernon, Virginia. She is a graduate of Howard University, M. Div. program, has served in church ministry for several years and is the founder of the saKred Centering Space, LLC. Her husband, DeMickel, serves in the US Army. Kinwana writes, “In my call to ministry, I believe part of this is being both manifested and fulfilled through my work as a Chaplain. As Jesus said, “go into the highways and hedges and compel them to come in,” I believe it is a reminder to the Believer that we have a responsibility to make room for others to feel safely and lovingly welcomed into the kingdom of God, no matter where they are. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I am intentional in both my work and service in the church through observing, addressing, and helping families and individuals navigate crisis, grief, and other family matters. I can say that I feel both blessed and honored to carrying out this sacred call as a Professional Chaplain. I pray to continue to use my knowledge and skills to provide spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and staff, while caring for the whole person—soul and spirit.”
