Matthew LeTourneau

Matt is serving as the chaplain with the Mankato Department of Public Safety. As a DPS chaplain Matt ministers to police officers, firefighters, first responders, dispatchers, and the general public at-large. In 2010 Matt responded to God’s call to go into ministry and completed a M.A. in Biblical Theology from Bethel University-St. Paul and received certification through the International Conference of Police Chaplains (ICPC). Matt joined as field staff with InFaith in Gentle Shepherd Ministries. In addition, he serves as a chaplain in hospitals and with first responders. As a hospital chaplain he has worked throughout the Mayo Clinic Health System network in southern MN.

Whether facilitating jail church services, helping reentry participants join a local church, ministering room-to-room throughout the hospital, providing pastoral support at church, or coming alongside our first responder heroes as they protect and serve, Matt’s ministerial calling is rolling up his sleeves and coming alongside side people in the throes of life with the good news of Jesus.

Matt lives and serves in Mankato, Minnesota. He and his wife have been married for 25 years and have raised their children in the area. He received his B.S. from Minnesota State University-Mankato where afterwards he began a 25-year career working in maximum security facilities.
