Mike (Myron) McConville

Mike serves at South Texas Veterans Health Care System. Mike came to know Jesus as his Savior in 1989 as a high school student. A few years later, He was called to ministry while serving as an active duty Marine. This calling was later fulfilled through a career as a Navy chaplain. Mike writes, “Since 2004 I have lived out my faith in Christ through serving our Marines and Sailors as a chaplain. I lived out this calling by being a grace-filled, loving influence in their everyday lives. As a chaplain who has worked in institutional settings since 2004, I have long maintained the sense that I am a guest in someone else’s house. When I engage outwardly with my faith, I have learned how to do so in a friendly, winsome manner that avoids lightening rod issues that might damage my credibility.” Mike is continuing the chaplain ministry as a resident at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System, San Antonio, TX. He completed a D. Min. from Gordon-Conwell Seminary, an M. Div. from Asbury Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Arts from Bethel University. He was ordained through the Missionary Church. Mike and his wife have been married for 26 years and have 3 children.
