Bob and Gale Romig serve in Eveleth, a rural community in northeast Minnesota. The area, often referred to as the “Iron Range,” was settled by immigrants from Sweden, Finland, and Norway who came to work in the many logging camps. Logging and mining remain the key industries in these communities. There is a large Native American population on the Iron Range, and many cross-cultural opportunities are developing with the influx of Latino workers in the area. The need for evangelism and discipleship is great in this area. On any given Sunday, approximately three percent of local residents attend a gospel-preaching, Bible-believing church. Because of this limited church attendance, it is even more important that residents see Christ through the lives of Christians in the community living out their faith each day and have an opportunity to hear the gospel message.
Bob and Gale have been in ministry as InFaith missionaries since September 1992. After seeing the need in their community, the Romigs began serving all kinds of people on their mission field. From preaching ministry to children’s ministries to senior citizen ministries in care facilities and the Adopt-a-Senior program, their work has been quite diverse as they minister to children, teens, adults, senior citizens, and co-laborers in Christ.
Bob and Gale’s current ministry slate includes the Cotton Community Church in Cotton, MN, where Bob serves as the pastor and Gale serves in the Sunday School and at various ladies’ events. During the summers they are involved in Vacation Bible Schools for children and also organize various seasonal children’s outreaches. Bob also strives to bring encouragement to local pastors.
In their work with Gentle Shepherd Ministries North East, the Romigs conduct nursing home chapel services and chaplain ministry, person to person visitation, and an Easter and Christmas Outreach with the Adopt-a-Senior program to almost 950 people. To that end, Bob and Gale strive to share Christ’s love and the gospel to hearts and lives that are headed for a crisis eternity, and mentor other believers to do the same. Whether on the streets, the playgrounds, or in senior care facilities, hearts need to hear the Good News—and the Romigs have been called to go and tell it. As the missionary and author Dick Hillis said, “Every life without Christ is a mission field; every life with Christ is a missionary.”
The Romigs have served as InFaith field staff since 1992.
They have been married since June 1st, 1979. As a couple, they treasure their daily walk with the Lord in His Word and prayer. This is the place that stokes the fire of their ministry as they discuss the day’s schedule, plans for future ministries, and where they are at personally so that they can pray accordingly. They are living out the truth of Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 as a couple: “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up.”

Donate to Bob & Gale Romig's Ministry Expense Fund to help fund the practical side of ministry (travel, office supplies, Bible Study materials, etc). Your generosity will fund a critical part of the ministry of our field staff, providing supplies that you or I may take for granted, that are necessary for completing everyday ministry.
The Adopt-a-Senior program is an outreach ministry to residents in nursing/assisted living and group home facilities across northeastern Minnesota. The aim is to minister to the emotional, spiritual, and physical needs of residents, letting them know that someone cares for them. The ministry was started in 2006, and has grown to provide a Christmas gift, card, and gospel tract that shares the meaning of Christmas to over 1,500 residents.
