Bruce and Alba Sewell serve Hispanic families on their field in Florida. Through Iglesia Biblica de la Comunidad (“Community Bible Church”), they are able to bring expository Bible teaching and leadership training to middle-class Hispanic families in the Tampa Bay area. In the suburban Dover community, Bruce and Alba lead Vacation Bible Schools and evangelistic events to reach people in migrant camps.
Bruce and Alba Sewell serve in both the urban Tampa area and suburban Dover area of Florida.
The community in Tampa is comprised largely of Hispanic or African American families, while Mexican immigrants reside in the Dover area. Families in both locations are generally lower to middle class. There is a great need in both of these communities to trust Christ for salvation and put him first.
After seeing the need in their community, the Sewells began using a two-part ministry to serve Hispanic families on their field in Florida. Through Iglesia Biblica de la Comunidad (“Community Bible Church”), they are able to bring expository Bible teaching and leadership training to middle-class Hispanic families in the Tampa Bay area.
In the Dover community, Bruce and Alba lead Vacation Bible Schools and evangelistic events to reach people in migrant camps. They help plan, lead, teach, recruit, and promote the VBS ministry through The Way Church in Dover.
The Sewells have served as InFaith field staff since 1995.
Bruce earned his Th.M. degree at Dallas Theological Seminary and his D.Min. at Luther Rice Seminary.
Bruce and Alba have four grown children, all married and believers in Christ. They have seven grandchildren and an eighth on the way.
