Debbie Woodard serves in Socorro and Valencia counties, rural communities in the heart of New Mexico. Many residents in these areas are bilingual, and New Mexico hosts a rich cultural heritage for Anglos, Hispanics, and Native Americans.

These communities are spiritually diverse, and Debbie has seen a great need to train up the children in the teachings of the gospel. “Children in our community are ripe to hear the gospel and learn about our great God and Savior,” writes Debbie.

After seeing the need in her community, Debbie began reaching children in Lemitar, Polvadera, San Acacia, San Antonio, Luis Lopez, Socorro, Los Lunas, Veguita, and Alamo. Her ministries include Bible Clubs and Vacations Bible Schools in various locations, mentoring ministries to disciple and train others to serve Christ, prayer ministries, Bible Studies, and a Mailbox Club.

“We focus on the ministry inward, upward, and outward,” explains Debbie. “We are training followers of the Lord to know Him personally and intimately, to worship Him, and to lead others within their sphere of influence to come to know Him.”

Debbie has served as InFaith field staff since 1974.

Debbie grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 14. She shared Christ with any and everyone in her school and community when God opened the doors.

God gave her a wonderful first year of college at Westmont in Santa Barbara, California, where she became an avid student of the Bible. New Testament Survey was her favorite class in college.

She graduated from the University of New Mexico with an undergraduate and master's degree in elementary education with bilingual emphasis (English/Spanish). She loves teaching the Bible to children!
