Ed & Fran Renk

Ed and Fran Renk serve in eastern Oregon, in the high desert country. The area is very rural, and the agricultural industry employs many residents. There are only five incorporated towns in this area, requiring the Renks to travel long distances for their ministries.

Most of the residents in this area are ranchers and farmers. As is the case in many rural communities, the local churches are having difficulty maintaining membership. There is a great need for the gospel to impact lives and encourage those in the church to reach out into their community. Basic Bible teaching and discipleship is also needed.

After seeing the need in their community, the Renks began to share the gospel through after school programs, Bible studies, and providing pulpit supply at two local churhces. 

The Renks have served as InFaith field staff since 1979.

Ed and his wife Fran live in eastern Oregon right next to the Idaho border. They work in 4 counties in eastern Oregon and have a teaching ministry. Ed fills pulpits in small rural churches and teaches home Bible studies and children's classes in rural schools. He also does a lot of visiting and encouraging people one-on-one. He loves to teach the Bible and see the Lord work in people’s lives. Fran is opening a Learning Center for kids with learning challenges and is a specialist at schooling programs that help these children. She was a principal of a Christian school for 10 years and has amassed a lot of knowledge to be able to minister to kids in this way.
