JJ & Tiana Pen

Azalea, where JJ and Tiana will be living, has a population of around 800. The neighboring town Glendale is similar in size. Mostly rural, conservative, families and retirees. Their ministry area resides mainly in the small town of Glendale, Oregon, and its neighboring rural community of Azalea, Oregon. At Fir Point Bible Camp they serve the local community as well as many other small churches across Southern Oregon.

The camp will be a major focus of their ministry. The word camp itself implies getting away from normal life into a more rugged and adventurous environment. JJ and Tiana hope to serve the local church and meet every person’s need for the faith arousing Word of God by inviting others into a camp experience that fosters fun and faith. Year-round discipleship groups will be a rhythm of opening God’s word and modeling faith in everyday life rhythms.

JJ and Tiana see a major need for youth and families to respond to the work of Jesus Christ in the Gospel, be taught to live God's Word, and be discipled to make disciples of Jesus. This is essentially the great commission.

Another need is for clear teaching of God's word contextualized in everyday living. There is especially a need for youth to have a variety of role models and formative relationships that point towards Christ and disciple them in how to walk with Christ more "Clearly, dearly, and nearly". People need fellowship and training in how to boldly live for Christ in their community.

JJ and Tiana have been candidates with InFaith since 2023.

JJ and Tiana both grew up in Christian homes and came to know the Lord when they were very young. They both attended Fir Point Bible Camp as campers and served there as teens and in their college years. Tiana graduated with an AAS in Graphic Design in 2021 and JJ will now graduate with his Master's in Divinity in May 2023. They are both excited to use what they've learned to further God's kingdom in Southern Oregon.
