In south-central Ohio, Jody and Beth Stevens serve through Vacation Bible Schools. They offer leadership training classes for the purpose of training leaders to serve in the VBS ministry. Jody and Beth also lead Bible quizzing youth rallies each month. Youth from churches in three different areas gather for Bible quizzing and sword drilling throughout the year, and a grand championship is hosted in May. Additionally, Jody and Beth have the opportunity to teach and minister in music at a local church in northeast Kentucky.

Local Reach

Jody and Beth Stevens serve in south-central Ohio and in northeast Kentucky, a primarily rural area with a number of smaller communities. The location hosts river valleys surrounded by beautiful rolling hills and farmlands.

Residents of the area are socio-economically diverse. There are professional individuals with high incomes, low-income families, and a range in between. By way of religious background, there is also a mix. While some have a solid relationship with the Lord and faithfully go to church, others are sometimes saints or want nothing to do with the church at all. The need to hear the gospel and be encouraged and grounded in the Word is evident.

With so many spiritual needs in their community, the Stevens incorporate various ministries to reach residents of all ages. Their Vacation Bible Schools provide the opportunity to present the gospel to the local youth and encourage young Christians in their walk with God. Jody and Beth prepare leaders to serve in the VBS ministry through teacher meetings in the churches and leadership training classes as the need arises.

Jody and Beth also lead Bible quizzing youth rallies in south-central Ohio each month. Youth from churches in three different areas gather for Bible quizzing and sword drilling (quickly finding verses in the Bible when given specific references) throughout the year and a grand championship is hosted in May. Jody and Beth say the goal of these youth rallies is “to get young people into the Word of God, and to get the Word of God into the young people.”

In addition to these ministries, Jody & Beth currently serve with teaching and music in a local church located in northeast Kentucky. Standing on the Word of God, Jody and Beth are continually seeking ways to share the gospel with the lost, to encourage spiritual growth in believers, and to point people to a good Bible-believing and preaching church. In keeping with the 2 Timothy 2:2 teaching, they are always looking for ways to include individuals in ministry and to encourage them in their walk with the Lord.

The Stevens have served as InFaith missionaries since 1991.

Jody and Beth both graduated from Appalachian Bible College in West Virginia in 1991, and were married the summer after their graduation. They have one daughter and four sons, as well as two daughters-in-law and two granddaughters.

Their children have faithfully served with them as a family through the years. All five of their children have also graduated from Appalachian Bible College.
