Colorado Springs is often described as over-churched but under-believing. Despite the city's continuous expansion and many opportunities for people to attend church, Levi and Elliana see a need for outreach as most of the population does not attend church. In more rural areas of Colorado, they encounter the common issue of fewer churches and dispersed populations, leading many to forgo church attendance due to distance and lack of availability.
In larger cities like Colorado Springs and Denver, churchgoers are more likely to encounter disabled individuals in their congregations, yet disability-related services are scarce. This issue is even more pronounced in rural areas, where distance and lack of inclusion prevent most disabled individuals from attending church. Consequently, there is a need for the inclusion of intellectually and developmentally disabled individuals in church settings across both urban and rural areas of Colorado.
