Church Planting Discipleship Prison Recovery Ministry Rural Ministry

Michael has been called to support and establish gospel centered rehabilitation ministries. After founding The Greater Hayward House of Hope, a men’s residential rehab ministry, God has called Michael to plant and invest in similar ministries in Minnesota, with a particular focus on underserved rural areas. Michael also supports churches and ministries in need of a trained consultant to refocus their efforts who cannot afford one.

Local Reach

Michael resides in Mora, MN, a small, rural town of 2,500 in Minnesota. This marks the first InFaith rehabilitation ministry in which Michael has invested. While there are recovery facilities in Mora, none of them prioritize a gospel-centered approach that ministers to the whole person. Many people seeking freedom from addiction are open to God but have avoided church and healthy relationships. The area’s resources are limited, catering to a mix of blue-collar, farming and skilled employees.

This ministry invests in teams of people who are committed to the mission of bringing gospel-focused recovery ministries to central Minnesota. The curriculum and scheduling of the ministry involve significant investment in sharing the gospel and whole life discipleship with those who need to win the battle over drug and alcohol addiction.

Mike became a missionary candidate with InFaith in 2024. He has been a lead pastor, church planter, and missionary for three decades. In this season of ministry, God has led Mike to invest in planting and strengthening ministries and churches.

In 2017, Mike began assisting recovery ministries in refocusing their efforts, and in 2019, Mike was called to start the Greater Hayward House of Hope in Hayward, WI. Since then, Mike has helped launch two additional recovery ministries. He has received Masters and Doctoral degrees in Human Relations and Transformational Leadership from the University of Wisconsin and Bethel University in Saint Paul. Mike has two children, Natalie and Schneider, and will be married to Dawn on September 7th, 2024.
