Paul and Virginia Frey serve in the Tomah and Sparta area school districts in Wisconsin. Much of the area is wooded, with swamps north of town and hilly “kettle moraine” south of town. The community is largely comprised of cranberry and dairy farms.
There is a large military presence in the community, and those who are not farmers or factory workers are often in some type of military career. The area has strong German and Norwegian roots, which commands a strong Catholic and Lutheran affiliation.
