Located in the Grand Valley on Colorado's Western Slope, Grand Junction is a growing community surrounded by beautiful high-desert landscapes. As the region's largest city, it draws families, professionals, and students from across the country. Colorado Mesa University is also home to the area, serving thousands of students each year.
According to a 2024 report, Grand Junction's population sits at around 70,000 people. The city continues to grow more and more each year, often drawing people from California, Utah, New Mexico, and Texas to work in the Medical or Education fields. Grand Junction has also been home to Colorado Mesa University, a lively college campus supporting 9,000-10,000+ students each year.
With a diverse and growing population, Russell and Tabitha see tremendous opportunities to share the love and truth of Jesus Christ. The region includes significant Latter-day Saint and Roman Catholic communities, along with individuals exploring spirituality and searching for purpose. Through personal relationships, evangelism, and intentional discipleship, the Bakers seek to help people come to know Christ and grow as His followers.
Having personally experienced the impact of faithful mentors during their college years, Russell and Tabitha understand the importance of investing in others. Their desire is to see believers become firmly rooted in God's Word, equipped to live out their faith, and empowered to disciple others. With Grand Junction positioned so close to the Utah border, there is a significant LDS presence in the area. There is also a large Roman Catholic community, and many around the university are in a place of expressing interest in spirituality, but not identifying with any particular belief system.
Tabitha and Russell Baker believe that today is the best day in history to be involved in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). Based in Grand Junction, Colorado, they aim to see people everywhere intimately walking with God in every aspect of life. With degrees in elementary education and graphic design, respectively, and over 25 years of combined experience of discipleship training, they are committed to making multiplying followers of Jesus (2 Timothy 2:2) in their hometown, throughout the country, and around the world (Acts 1:8).
