Local Reach

Robert and Cindy McDowall serve in eastern Washington, in small, rural towns scattered throughout seven counties. The area’s landscape is diverse and includes mountains, farmlands, and wheat fields.

Residents of this area are independent, hardworking, and mainly conservative. The vast majority are unchurched and unsaved. There is a need for ministry to reach into the community and bring the hope and love of the gospel message to those who do not attend a church.

After seeing the need in their community, the McDowalls began reaching out to the community through a number of different ministries. From church planting and pastoral placement, to discipleship and counseling, Robert’s passion is leading people to salvation in Jesus Christ. He also encourages local churches to be a light in their community, and helps them in ministry development.

Robert is also the assistant director of Cocolalla Lake Bible Camp in northern Idaho. The camp started in 1972 “with tents and a passion to reach people for Jesus.” Over time, the camp’s twelve acres have developed into a year-round camp that draws thousands of people annually. In addition to summer camps and winter retreats for men and women, programs include special-interest retreats focused on backpacking, quilting, and scrapbooking. Robert notes, “Camp at Cocolalla is a great opportunity to see many people come to know Jesus as their Savior, be discipled, and then get involved in ministry themselves.”

The McDowalls have served as InFaith field staff since 1986.

Robert got saved in 1971 at a small, rural church run by InFaith. He and his wife, Cindy have been married since 1986. They have three grown children.
