New Books by InFaith Endorsed Chaplains

How can you share the gospel with someone who doesn’t care? As Western culture becomes increasingly indifferent to questions of faith, diverted by secularism, comfort, and distraction, believers encounter many people who don’t so much doubt God as they are apathetic toward him. In Apatheism, InFaith endorsed Navy Reservist Chaplain Kyle Beshears urges us to recapture the joy of our salvation and demonstrates how to faithfully display the love of Christ to apatheist friends and neighbors. You can purchase the book on Amazon here.

“If I had known the Enneagram earlier in my ministry, I would have been a much better pastor.” When this thought came to Todd Wilson, InFaith endorsed Air Force Reservist Chaplain, he had already served as a pastor in several churches for the better part of fifteen years. At its root, pastoral ministry is about shepherding, serving, leading, and loving people. "When it came to empathetically shepherding people and sensitively engaging their manifold personalities and diverse ways of seeing the world, I was an amateur," Todd says. Whether you are on a church staff or leading a small group, you will find that the insights from the Enneagram that have helped many grow in self-awareness can be applied to life in our faith communities. Candidate Profile: Jeremy Holt

As a young child, Jeremy Holt watched the TV show Christy, about a city schoolteacher who went to serve at a mission in the mountains of eastern Tennessee. That show made Jeremy fascinated by Appalachian culture and beauty and grew in him a heart for the area and it’s needs.

“I never dreamed God would send me to Appalachia long term,” Jeremy says. But that’s exactly what He did: Jeremy serves through community outreach in the mountainous region of eastern Kentucky.

“It really devastates me to see so many young men in this next generation who are in such desperate need of mentoring, encouragement, and spiritual training,” Jeremey says. His hope is to start a chain reaction of discipleship and see mentors get plugged into the lives of children and youth on a large-scale, having a lasting impact on the community.

Jeremy plans to stay connected with at-risk youth through school and sports ministry with the hopes of leading them to Christ and helping them become more like Christ.

Simon’s House

Marty and Edna Ziegler recently came across an opportunity to bless pastors and other laborers for Christ with a get-a-way where they can connect with God. They are calling it “Simon’s House” based on the passage in Acts 10 where Simon the tanner provided a place for Peter to stay, where he was able to seek God.
